My shaving brush trees are losing color.

What's up guys. I got my Order yesturday from saltwaterfish.com and the trees were sent to me with the tops a deep green color. Now a day later my trees look to be a light green almost like pale green. Is this normal??

I only have a 48 inch flourecent bulb I think it's 40 or 50 watts. Do you think i need more/better lighting for them cause I'll order it right now?

Says 'moderate light'...so you probably need more.

Looks good .. when you mount the first one, can you put something over the tanks opening so that nothing falls in or water doesn't splash out??

Well, you'd need a hood of some sort.

My tank is acrylic, and has a weird opening, so i just popped the acrylic cover off the original light and put it over the hole.

If you have a regular glass tank, you'd probably want somethin like this:

i don't know much about lighting. but have you considered the possibility that maybe they turned dark green when they arrived because of the shipment. being boxed in the dark for many hours may have changed the color, but now that you have it in your tank its going back to normal light green.

It's a good possiblity. They picture on Liveaquaria looks about the same color as mine do. But I think i'll play it safe and get the lights anyway. I'm going to be adding corals later but I was gonna put off buying the lights for a month or two. But better safe than sorry.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think I'm gonna go with the Nova Extreme T-5 Fixtures w/Lunar Lights 48" 4-54watt 216total and the 48" Perfecto Glass Canopies. Thanks agian.
