first off.. i didnt know they could do that.. but now i have two-5 survivors.. and they look like yellow tuffies with red cheeks... cant wait to see what they turn into!

anyone else have this sort of thing happen? i got hte tuffie by mistake when i bought my glass shrimp.

what is a "tuffie"?

It didn't happen. Something obviously led you to believe that it did, but I assure you, a fathead minnow has not produced offspring with a platy in your tank.

They don't even produce in a similar fashion. Platys practice internal fertilization, while fatheads are egg-layers. A female fathead cannot be internally fertilized, and a male tuffy does not have the necessary structure to inseminate a platy. This is just the simple matter of logistics, ignoring entirely how distantly these two fishes are 'related' to one another.
