I have a 55 gallon. Skimmer on the way(bak pak)- should have on 10-26

My question is this:
I need a list of extremly hardy fish that could withstand a nuclear attack.
I have a yellow tang and 3 grn chrom. I have tried to add other fish to the tank, but they all got ich and died, within a week.

Haven't tried to add fish for a month now, no sings of ich, never were on the livestock that are still live

Tank parameters pH:8.1-8.4 ammonia-0 nitrites-0 alk- normal

Why do my fish die? what fish can I add?

Damsels, died; clowns died; royal grammas, died;
What can I do!!

Thanks-

What's your salinity? How are you acclimating the fish when you put them in? Did they die shortly after you put them in the tank or were they doing good for several days before passing? Are they being harrassed constantly by the evil tang (who I'm assuming has claimed ownership of your tank)?

I'm surprised you didn't lose them all to ich. It usually spreads rapidly. The ones that died may have been too stressed to fight it off. Although morays are resistant to it because of heavy slime, Cryptocaryon (marine ich) isn't normally too choosy about the species it infects. You just need to be sure the infestation has died down.

I would led the tank settle down a while longer, and make sure the remaining fish stay healthy without any spots.

That's whats happening. He needs a fish that can withstand the satanic powers of his tang. I would suggest damsels, but since all the one's he's tried
have been slain... (i suggest getting a priest to perform the Rite of Exorcism on your tank)

Hmm
I think the culprit is the lfs, I bought a fish, but didn't have time to study it, and It had white spot. Went into QT and spots went away, but died of fungus due to a pinpoint feeding incident. (the fish I get there never run to the food, have to bring it to them)

Thanks

The tang is actually entertaining too; the green chromis swim into its caves, and its an instant action movie! I swear I've seen It bite one of them!

Well, sure you've seen it bite the other fish. It's possibly the source of your ich to they tend to carry it . How big is you tang? I really wouldn't get any other fish until you find a new home for your tang," at least a 90 gal so that it has room to swim". and things stabelise .\

p.s.
Won't flame you over the tang I imagine you've heard it b/4 best of luck. Listen to Dave and don't add any fish until the tank is free of disease for at leat one month.

as long as the tank has fish in it, wont ich continue to cycle in the tank? i thought thats how it worked. i thought the tank would have to be fish free for 4-6 weeks for ich to actually die out???????? just wondering, i may have lost my entire perspective of how my tank works, i hate it when that happens!

the tang doesn't have ich
it was on the new fish, and it didn't spread

BTW a 90 gallon is the same length, only 5 in wider, than a 55, so I think that wouldn't make much of a difference in swimming room
