I am trying to find out about two plants that ended up in my tank by mistake and are multiplying like mad. One is kind of cute, but very prolific. Each plant is smaller than a pencil eraser in diameter, has four leaves, is shaped like a butterfly, and floats on the surface with tiny little roots below. The other is a bloody nuisance. It is very dainty and stringy, but grows in hairy bundles and gets tangled in the other plants and will kill them if I don't remove it frequently. I can't ever get it all out of the tank, so it always grows back within a week or two. Taking it out wouldn't be so bad, but it pulls the leaves of other plants off in the process.
