mystery snail egg laying

i have posted a couple questions about a week ago concerning mystery snails mating....but todays question..................has anyone ever seen a mystery snail lay eggs on the top of the water surface??? if anyone has,,,what does this look like? how do they do it?

Those are bridgesii egg clutches. They are huge clusters of eggs. These clutches make it easy to control the population of the snails, because you can remove them before they hatch.

have you ever seen how theu dispurse them onto the surface? the reason im asking is because my mystery snail goes to the surface a lot and sticks this thing that looks like a tube way above the water. when he retracts it back in i check the top but there is nothing there.............i was wondering what hes doing with this "arm"

one of my co-workers once said it looks like a cocoon, or like a thing from another planet, very distinct. I've never seen it myself though.

he's getting a glup or air. apple snails can breathe atmospheric air and need to come up for air every once and a while, like many fish with the ability to breathe air.

if u keep 2 apple snails they will sure breed cause it has two sexes in the body.oh ya btw apple snails breed at night.

I've seen mystery snail eggs at a pet store, It looks a bit like clear rice pudding, stuck on the dry glass.

And the aquarium with the snails looked like a massive snail orgy.

Pomeacea Bridgsii and Cana (what are commonly referred to as Apple Snails) have two distinct sexes.

Some other species of snails are the ones your thinking of...

Yes, the rod he's sticking out of the water is (I believe) its siphon, which it uses to breathe atmospheric air. The egg clutches looks like a miniature bunch of grapes...many, many tiny grapes. It's very distinct. You can't miss it.
