I rescued a black mystery snail from petsmart that has a rather large hole in his shell that shows his body. Fortunately it's not located near the back of his shell, unfortunately it's near his opening where their new growth begins. I've had to fix one of my snails shells before with marine epoxy but the erosion hole was on the spiral and pretty simple to fix (he's still alive and growing!). My main concern with this little guy is that fixing it could possibly impede his growth, but not fixing it could cause it to get bigger. I've read of people using eggshells and gluing them over the hole or using the eggshell membrane on areas where their body shows and then putting epoxy on top of that. But does the fixture ever fall off or will it just remain there permanently? Anyone with experience in this area your advice will be greatly appreciated. 20161030_153730.jpg
Thank you.
