Names

i named my larger blood parrot "The Schnauz" (the one in my avatar :p ), the electric blue s.fryeri is Brutus, the rest of the cichlids i just call by their type: auratus, crabos, zebra... the brown knife's name is "The Phantom", my bichir (p.senagalus)is Levi (short for leviathan), and my baby flowerhorn is named 'Green Destiny', after the sword from crouching tiger, hidden dragon. my bandit cory is spot, the large albino cory is the colonel,the others i just call by type and size like big bronze, lil bronze...last but not least, my baby blood parrot's name is royce, after royce gracie.

I have a baby female Guppy called Matilde, but you have to pronounce it in a Jean-Reno-in-Leon accent or she wont answer you.

And I have a Baby Platty called Blue Rocket. Just because I always wanted a kid called Blue Rocket.

The other named ones are Little Wing (Young Sterbai Cory with an underdeveloped fin, Pearl & Santos (Plattys), Harry (Moonlight Gourami), Sammy (Male Bristlenose), & Penelope (Female Bristlenose),
 
I name some of my fish. The bichir is Erkenbrand (go lord of the rings names!) and I did name the silver dollar but we bought some more so I don't think I'll be able to tell them all apart when the 2 little ones catch up size wise to the big one. When I get my dwarf puffers I'm going to name them Clover, Alex, Sam and Jerry. :) Usually I name my favorites.
 
I used to, then i got too many, haahaa. Like someone said, i name my favorites, but its a long process. I tried naming all my bettas after cars i liked, but.. that didnt last too long; though i still have the first fish i ever bought (his name is saleen, after the Saleen S7. seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeexy car.)

We name the ones we can tell apart.
"The Pacu" has now become "The Big Pacu" once we got the little Pacu.
Black Arrowana - Zelda
Tiger Shovelnose Cat - Ed (after an old boss)
Iridescent Shark - Smudge
Tilapia - Whitey
4 x Tinfoils - The Posse
9 x Clown Loaches - The Herd
2 x Sailfin Plecos - Charlie & Emilio

Everyone else is just....that green guy, the red guy, the black guy....or by type - the big Demasoni, Mpanga, female Empress, etc.

I don't name my fish, generally, but I have a betta named Ferris and two corys: Mr. Wigglebum and Stealth.
 
I used to have a school of blackskirt tetras I called the mafia or mafioso. The biggest, fattest one was the don. Besides that, its like Deuce Bigalo: "Hey fishy, fishy, fishy!"

Thats a cool name for a bichir. I never thought about it but the name fits perfectly!
