Reminds me of how my own dog (german shepherd) is never more than 10 feet from my side and always in the same room as me.

Dogs are wonderfully loyal creatures. If humans were more like them... I hope the dog can eventually get past it's current sorrow.

I have read from a book on dogs that they experience grief on the death of their master. When in grief, they may stop eating and shy away from people. However, they eventually had to connect with the person who tries to provide their basic needs in order to survive.
 
thats how all dogs/dog owners should be, if the dog is well taken care of, the dog will take care of its owner to.
