i have snails - hundreds of them - came from no where MONTHS after i had added any plants to my tank plus i always wash my plants before putting them in so i don't know where these eyesores came from - on top of it they don't even eat the algae in my tank so they are usless i believe they are the malyasian trump snails - they have sort of a sprial - ish shell and are very small - also they seem to fall off the plant leaves as soon as i put on lights and burrow into the gravel

i have no room for clown loaches my tank is 55 g community heavily planted - cories mainly inhabit the bottom - i do have one 4 inch clown ( i know he'd be happiest with more clowns but i bought three a few years ago when i was a newbie and the other two have since passed) but i know i certainly can't keep more clowns there's just not enough room - anyone have some suggestions? other inhabitants are my angel fish and gouramis - i've heard skunk loaches work well but i've also heard they are nasty - i don't want anything that will hurt my cories - need a peaceful fish

Khluie loaches, zebras, yoyos all stay on the smaller side and eat snails. The reason you are just noticing them is that they have probably been hiding in the substarte until now, which means there are tons more than you can see. I figure you probably get 10 snails for every 1 you see.

I had the same problem in one of my 10 Gal tanks.
I got 2 loaches (I was told they're called Bermese loaches, but I think they have a different name) and in less than a week my snail problem was gone. I don't even think I have one snail left in that tank anymore =)

I also have this problem, can anyone get me a pic of snail eggs so i can see if this is what i have in my tank?

I sore my large yellow angel eat a big snail though today :S

SEND ME SOME SNAILS!!! I NEED THEM FOR NY PUFFER FISH....crud...

The only problem with Yo-Yo loaches is that they love to irritate other fish, I had two in a 45g with one angel and they drove the angel insane by constantly nipping his fins and circling him until it got to the point he would just sit on the substrate so I obviously removed them.

Anything I can use to eat snails that will live with a Betta and 2 African Dwarf Frogs in a 2.5 gallon?

I don't have a problem (YET!) that I know of but I have seen 1 or 2 snails and would like to stop it before it becomes a problem.

I had about 4 skunk loaches in my 55 gallon and they never bothered the cories or the angels. Actually, I never really saw too much of them, they seem to be hiders by day and snail hunters by night....

Poor Oddball. Everyone else has snails they hate and you can't get a snail to breed in your tank for anything.

The Kuhli Loaches are supposedly mild-mannered and snail hunters extraordinaire for their size.
