just an update, i took the serpaes back a little while ago, and have been watching the activity in the tank for the past 30 minutes. Everyone seems much more relaxed, and less afraid to swin to where the serpaes had claimed as their territory. I do beleve that the serpaes were the culprits. Thanks everyone for your advice.
