Need an ID

LFS gave me this guy for free. Apparently when they got him in, he jumped out of his tank and landed in another. Where the fish in there preceeded to attacking him and eat one of his eyeballs. What is he?

Definetly not a rainbow shark. It's a charcin, not a cyprind. The exact species I'm not sure of, but I saw it in one of my books and you can tell it's a charcin by the apidose fin.

EDIT: that fish is not in any of my books.

The fins look like a dye job to me. Poor thing. I agree with dorkfish, it's a charcin.

poor guy, he'll probably be OK as long as he gets enough to eat. I believe it's a chalceus, too, and they do get pretty big. I want one, but would need at least a 75 gal for him.
