Now that all the materials are in the mail (or will be in the mail shortly) it's time for me to figure out what the heck I'm going to do with them. I've seen several other members here use the manzanita wood centerpiece idea, and I really like it lol. I have these pieces coming to me:

What I'm worried about is having the tank be too symmetrical, though. I was going to break up my crypt and spread out my rotala roundifolia behind / amongst these pieces of wood (similar to Machnus's tank that just won TOTM).

On either side I was going to put the glosso as the foreground cover plant and then the hairgrass as a taller background ground cover plant.

As I said, though, the issue I'm having is I think the tank is going to look too symmetrical. But I feel if I just push the pieces off to one side it's just going to look weird.

I'm still rather inept at this whole aquscaping idea, so hopefully you guys can offer some advice.

Tank is 15 gallon, btw, if that makes any difference (not completely sure how I'm going to fit some of those pieces :lipssealedsmilie:)

I like the idea of having all the branches on the middle/right of the tank pointing up and left.. or the reverse of this. That way you don't have a wall of wood anywhere and there's some open-ness on one side of the tank. Mind you, not all in the corner facing out.. sorta in this position?

I'm not a great-scaper either, but offsetting to one side or the other tends to look real nice, especially with a grassy lawn in the open area.
