I just got 2 new cardinal fish and they are trying everything I'm feeding the tank but then spitting it all out. What should I try feeding them? Please help if you can!
what type of cardinals? my pj cardinal will only 2 types of frozen food (rod's and brine shrimp) and hikari marine S. the hikari marine S is the ONLY dry food she will eat - and i've tried just about everything else. she's the only picky fish i have.
You just have to keep trying stuff. Maybe consider Cyclopeeze, Arctipods, and the like to see if you can't elicit a response. I think you are looking for "Banggai" cardinalfish.
My Banggais eat Mysis, Krill, mussel, prawns and marine feast. I mix all mine up in a bottle with cyclopeeze and garlic.
When I was "weaning" my baby Banggai cardinal he was on newly hatched artemia and then I started mixing the live with the above mixture and now he's totally on solids!!
I do have Cyclopeeze and have tryed it but they didn't go for it. I will have to go get some of that other stuff and see if that works. Thanks everyone. Please give more suggestions if you have any.
I have to admit (sorry only just remembered) I have seen my baby Banggai catch and spit out some of his food but it does look like he gets a bit of it.
