I actually live in Weatherford, TX - 20 mins west of Ft. Worth. I hate petsmart here and was wondering if anyone can point me to a LFS that isnt a corp store. I am sick of having fish that were not taken care of in tha past.
Need help finding LFS in Ft. Worth area

In the past, I bought from The Fish Place North of I30 at the Green Oaks exit. The store is tucked away in a strip center behind the mall. They used to have the best fish in town but 2 months ago I saw a lot of dead fish in their tanks and some ich.
Winnies Pets in Hurst off of Pipeline a couple of blocks east of Precint Line had some nice fish when I was there a 3 months ago but I was only buying a tank at the time. I bought my Blue Rams there a few years ago.
All of the Petsmarts, Petcos and PetORamas in the Arlington/Ft. Worth area have poor selections and poor quality in my opinion.
I have had 2 tanks setup for about 3 months now and I can't find any decent Corys, Otos or Tetras to stock them with. About all I'm doing these days is aquatic gardening!! At least I have a couple of tanks with fish I purchased a couple of years ago.
If you do find a decent LFS in our area, let me know. I have gone to Dallas once to the Fish Gallery. They have the best selection of live plants I have ever seen (Glosso, Didipilis Diandra, Stargrass, Ammania, Rotala Indica, various crypts and swords and others). Their fish looked healthy but they were rather low in stock at the time (about 3 months ago).
Now, if I could only get some decent fish for my 38 Gallon tank!!

I went to Winnies Pets in Hurst and Petsmart in Arlington. I would stay away from Winnies. Half the fish I bought there, otos and corys, have died. The Petsmart fish, Common Hatchets and Ghost Cats, are doing fine. Apparently, Petsmart on Eastchase at I30 has some good fish occassionally.

If you don't mind driving for about 45 min. there is a great shop in Addison, it's The Dallas North Aquarium. It's off of Marsh and Trinity Mills. Here is the link: http://www.dallasnorthaquarium.com/
They have a big selection of FW and Salties and I never see dead fish in their tanks. Hope I was able to help
