Need help with new cories

So, I went to one of my lfs today and picked up half a dozen cory cats and four additional lemon tetras. On the way back I unexpectedly got stuck in fourth of july traffic. It took my a little over an hour to get home. When I got home I noticed that the tetras had red gills but the cories seemed fine. Then a few minutes ago I went into my bathroom.(Where the quarantine tank is) and noticed that the cories have shiny spots on their bodies. Is this normal? I did not notice it before. Here is a picture:

yes, that's just normal coloration, most likely, as there is no disease I am familiar with that makes a fish look like that.
 
Awesome! I love Peppered Corycats. They look fine to me in that picture. Peppered cats have a sheen to them and it reflects the light back when it hits them just right.

I'm more concerned about your tetras. How are they doing? When you go to get fish from the store, bring some Prime with you. If you get stuck in traffic like that, open the bag and put a couple of drops in to detox the ammonia.

The red gills has lessened quite a bit. It is still there though. Either that or they are just open their gills wider then normal and I can see the red.

They are swimming and behaving normally.

Gills turn red when they are irritated or being burned with ammonia. Hopefully there is no scarring or permanent damage. Just keep an eye on them, please?
