I have a problem. I have a film at the surface of my saltwater tank. It looks almost like oil. How high should the cup be on my prizm skimmer. Should it be at the surface or right below the surface. No information on the redsea website. please post to this thread.

When you say "the cup" im assuming u mean the surface skimmer attatchment. The very top of the surface skimmer should be just above the water level. The oil might be because you dont have good enough surface movement, do you? And to solve any problem you ever might run into with this skimmer.... get a new skimmer, prizms are horrible IMO. I had one for about a year and hated just about every second of it.
You need a ton more water movement for sure. Your skimmer although not the "skimmer of the year" can get the job done for now. The cup should be just above the water surface so you can skim the very top layer for proteins. What helped me with this skimmer was to install a small bulkhead in the collection cup and drain the waste into a coke bottle, I did not have to tweak the skimmer that much this way.
