Hi guys.... I'm hoping someone can help me. My smallest blood parrot cichlid has always been extra "deformed" (didn't know about the whole hybrid thing when I bought them), and now he clearly has Swim Bladder disease. I've done what all the forums have suggested-

high fiber diet, shelled peas, he's quarantined and I've been dosing the hospital tank (82 degrees) with epsom salt & melafix. Ho hum.... I am waiting for Interpet 13 to ship from the UK.

I've only had him in the hospital tank for about 24 hrs., but I'm not seeing any improvement, the epsom salt is not yet working as a laxative (no waste), and he won't eat! I also read it was good to have him fast in the hosp. tank since he could be constipated and that's causing the swim bladder problem.

One site even said to massage his tummy to try to get things moving! So I did that too! I'm not seeing ANY improvements. Do I just have to wait? The reason why I'm worried is because most of the people I read about that tried this, saw almost immediate results with the Epsom Salt.
