Hey all, as some of u know i have danios, barbs, and 2 shrimp. Well i need to make new/better hiding places for the shrimp, but also have plently of open space for the danios to jet around in, its a 10g so my space is a bit limited. I may move the shrimp to my 20 g, but are they peaceful with goruima

if you need some more hiding places, I use rocks around the edges and the back. My kuhlis love it, wedged in between the glass and the rocks. Wait a minute, what kind of shrimp are we talkin, here?

bamboo shrimp, they're pretty active, but during molting they need to hide, not that their in any danger, danios wont touch them, but just to futther imitate their nature enviornment. i want them to feel safe when they molt

I covered a film canister with gravel using aquarium putty. After it cured for a few days I put it in on its side nestled into the gravel on the aquarium floor. It looks like a little stony cave. Not sure how big bamboo shrimp are but my amanos use it.

very good idea greendeltatke, maybe u can get a ceramic pot (for plants) and lay it on its side, half way into the gravel, the fish could potentially use it as well.

someone in the catfish forum just posted their idea, I liked it quite a bit, they buried a piece of pvc pipe so that just the ends of the tunnel are above the gravel, and surrounded the entrances to rocks to keep the gravel out. Its like a little hidden underground tunnel :D

thats also a great idea, i may have to do that with my 20g, but wouldnt the pipe get dity when poop an filth collects, there wouldnt be any current taking filth to the filter

I would probably unbury it once every couple of weeks, now that you mention that. Or, if you hover the gravel vac over the entrances, if its not a really long pipe, that might work
