Hey guys, I have another tank size question regarding those 2 Blood Red Parrots I rescued from my friend. I know very little about these fish, except that they're unpopular with most people but I want to do right by them, as I would any creature, so I want to make sure to get the right tank style. Should I buy one with a larger footprint like 48" or would a taller tank, same volume be ok? They have a 55g on sale, at Petsmart that's 30"Wide x 18"Deep x24"Tall, with stand, for just over $200.00. They also have a 55g with a 48" footprint but I really don't have the space for another long, large tank, in my rec room. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

Volume is good for dilution standards however a larger footprint is always better IMO. There is a pretty big difference between a 3 foot and a 4 foot tank...

 OH pooh...I was afraid of that! Thanks jpappy!

3 foot by 18 compared to 4 foot by 12... only a fooot differance, so if you wanted and only have just a pair of blood parrots and nothing else, you can do the 3 foot by 18. but dont add anymore fish.

oh wait, 30 by 18.. id agree with JP on this one.
