Folks:

Background

My nitrates are typically less than 20 and for substantial periods less than 15.

My water is soft: Gh<5 and Kh<3.

My water temperature is 78F.

I rehomed my GN's as recommended by others.

I have a "purportedly QA".

My tank is 110G-30" high with plenty of rock caves and holes and several wooden caves and holes.

My current bottom feeders are:
1) the one pleco;
2) three adult yoyo loaches and
3) six sterbai cories.

Question:

What plecos could I induce into my tank which:

1) Are as "pretty as the GN's were and as "real" QA's are";

2) Will be approximately 6" in length or less as adults and

3) Are principally carnivores although "somewhat omnivores".

Vampire 007 or 007b will stay pretty small for a number of years. They eventually grow out to 10, but you're easily looking at five to seven years before that. Almost strictly carnivore, but will occasionally fluff up nutrition with wood, veggies, or leftover flake. 007 are black/grey with a tight pattern of white spots all over, and a small thread of blue in the eye of most fish. 007b has the same patterns but with yellow spots.

I'm curious why you had to rehome the gold nugget with that mix of fish? Your L260 would be happier at warmer temps than provided, IMO, and your other fish wouldn't suffer at 80-82 even, but I'm not sure what else is currently in your tank with the bottom feeders, either. Peckoltia sp. "leopard frog" would probably fit the bill (L134) also, but again, I keep most of my plecos quite a bit warmer than that to stimulate their appetite and immune system.
