I have a 33 gal community tank including 9 neons. One of them has a huge stomach and I was wondering whether that means it has the dreaded "neon tetra disease" or something else. Also, should I quarantine this fish before it causes the other fish to get sick?

Thanks

I noticed this happened to a couple of my neons, at different times. Only one of them died while it had a big stomach. You'll want to make sure its nothing serious, so I would recommend quarantining it so you can control just how much the one fish eats. It could very well be bladder related, or maybe it's just being overfed?

Does the fish look kind of like a miniature whale... swollen belly but not distended? It could just be a gravid female. Mine occasionally looks like she's ready to pop, and then the fish start spawning and she goes back to being fairly normal.

The stomach of one of the neons was quite big and it was keeping to itself, while another one's skin was looking discoloured and the fins were torn. I was looking on a couple other comments and it sounded like NTD.
