After I made a PWC this morning, I notice my male neon rainbow have a yellow or tan colored strip running from the front of the dorsal fin to the mouth, just about 1-2mm wide. I am wandering if there is problem with him or is just him showing the spawn color for the female?
The male is always active in the morning and chases the females, but this is the first time I saw this yellow strip. It is definitely not the reflective color as their body, since several times when he pauses in the water, I saw the color fades away, or intensify during 1 or 2 seconds. Reflective color will only change when he moves. Have anyone saw this kind of color on neon rainbow before?
