I have 10 black neon tetras that have lost the black coloration on their body. What does that mean? I hope they're just stressed out and it's not anything bad. I've had three of them for a couple of years now and their color slowly faded. The other seven are new and I bought them with their color already patchy. Was that a bad move purchasing them with discoloration already?

I have found that the better your water parameters are, the better the coloration. Are you doing water changes regularly? What are your paramaeters currently? Are you using a good quality water conditioner when you do the changes? Is the tank getting adequate day and night cycles? Are you feeding a high quality and semi-varied diet?
