neon tetra's or zebra danio's

Go for danios to start off with, then after you could have a shool of cardnals?

I'm convinced zebra danios can survive a nuclear war :D - go with them if you get anything they are incredibly hardy - all though i would suggest the fishless cycle above all else

BASS is right, zebras are really hardy, someone posted years back on here or fishindex about how he shutdown his tank not knowing there was 1 zebra danio still in it, filter off everything off for months, water evaporated almost all the way, few inches left of water and he saw the thing swimming alive and well, amazing. It is the cockroach of the waterworld.

Hey Monkey 44, If the zebra danio is the cockroach of the water world like Jtd says, I would nominate the Black Neon for second place. They are bombproof IMO. :)

Thank you so much everyone for all the great info. I think I'm going to go with the zebra danio's. Yes, I do have enough "color" going already, so I think they will be a great addition. Sorry I hadn't replied sooner, but I had to go get a tooth pulled this morning! I haven't gone to the LFS either for this reason (LFS is an hour away). :( My Nitrates and Nitrites are still showing 0, but the amnonia is showing up at .25 ppm. Should I be concerned? I did a second water change and it is still showing the same results. I haven't checked today, I'm going to do that right now though. Thanks again!!

If you are still showing ammonia hold off on getting any more fish. Keep an eye on the nitrItes because thats what the ammonia gets turned in to. The nitrAtes are not a concern unless the levels get very high, but until they start appearing, your cycle has not finished. Ideally you want 0 ppm ammonia, 0 ppm nitrites, and at least some indication of nitrates.
