now i have a school of 15 or 2 schools of 7-8 depends on there mood. how do i make sure they all get enough food as they don't come to the surface to eat and wont eat off the bottom.

they don't come to the surface to eat and wont eat off the bottom.

Is that normal behavior? We want to get some for our 20 gallon and this would be helpful information on their normal behavior.
Thanks!

i have heard of people using a turkey baster to feed. partially fill a container with tank water and soak the food in there.

hrmmm i think my gf would leave me if i started the turky baster feeding she already winges at me playing with the fish.i can get it to sink but it doesnt float around enough for them to get it (tank is 1500l400w600h)

"you can condition the tetra to eat from anywhere within the tank, it just takes time"

hrmmm should i just buy floating food and the pricks can starve unless they goto the top or is there a way to train them?

Feed the same way everyday, they'll soon learn. Eventually, the food will soak enough weight that it will begin to sink. You may want to feed near the filter outlet. This may cause enough turbulence to cause the food to sink.

When they're hungry enough they'll learn. Mine wait for the sinking flakes and hungrily destroy them.

mine will eat the tetra color bits/as well as flake..they will find the food.
