Personally I think Cardinals are a much better looking fish so Ive always gone with them and dont have too much experience with neons. My experience with cardinals tells me that these guys are very difficult to acclimate....however once acclimated seem to be a very hardy fish. Ive gone through a couple batches of these guys.....but the last batch has done great and have had these 5 in my tank for over a year with no issues. My PH is around 6.8
