never encounter this before.. wat can i do?

i was watching my puffers today and i notice that the left gill for my green spotted puffer is not working.. i dont think anyway. his right gill is working fine it seems, i can clearly see him breathing ( the the right side) and the muscles on the right area moves w/ the gill.

but for the left said i failed to see any movement of the gill or muscle ( unless its too small)

is this some kind of sickness? or somethign from birth? i searched puffernet and i dont see anything like this.

i've never encounter this problem before.. what can i do?

belpallsy (sp?) Don't know if that is the correct spelling.
It is a condition where half of your face become paralyzed.
It isn't quite known what causes this condition.
My friend had this and after he got adjusted it went away, 'pinched nerve'.

Bell's Palsy, I believe, but I thought that it affected the neurology of higher beings, and a part of the brain that fish don't have.

I will look to confirm.

Do fish have a facial nerve? That's what is affected in human Bell's Palsy.

If your water parameters test out alright, i wouldn't worry about it. I've seen lots of my fish do that.

Or just listen to Pufferpunk, since that user has more knowledge with regard to puffers...they've kept them, and I'm just going by book knowledge. Best of luck with the puffer!!!
