Hi,
I am new to the fish fathering hobby and started with an impulse buy of my Betta Buddy, Moby2 and a .5 gallon bowl as recommended by the PetCo salesperson. After joining this forum, I learned that a bowl with no heater or filter was NOT GOOD. I upgraded Moby2's home to a FluVal Spec III (2.5 gallon) tank with live plants, heater and filter. I've enjoyed my experience greatly caring for Moby2 and his tank mates, 4x RCS and 2 x Nerite snails. His tank finally finished cycling (60 days) and my daily water testing and frequent water changes have eased.
I am ready to upgrade again and have purchased a 20 gallon (long) tank which I will cycle before adding fish. Since my FluVal Spec III came with an integrated filtration system, I didn't have to worry about filtration. I am now seeking advise on the best filter for my new 20 gallon. I am planning to heavily plant the new tank and populate it with 5 x female Bettas and a few Corys.
Any advise on the selection of a good filtering system is greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Randy/Folsom, CA
