Hey all. Kind of new to fish and im planning to move a Common Pleco to this tank. Im wondering if i could perhaps have 1 or 2 cichlids in it as well. Attached is the tank. Pretty sure its a 20g long.

I would rehome the common pleco, as it will outgrow your tank. It’s a 20G high. You could replace him with either a clown pleco or a bristlenose, they stay more on the smaller side. As for cichlids, I would recommend either a pair of German blue rams or Bolivian Rams.

That's good advice. Common plecos get to be over 12 inches, and really have no place in MOST home aquariums. Nor are they 'needed', since they aren't a good cleaner and do produce massive amounts of waste.

Rams, shellies, apsitos--there are a variety of cichlids that stay small enough for a 20. What behavior are you hoping to see?
