New 70 Gallon, anxious for fish!

I have a fluval 404, i feel unsure of the connections from the hoses to the water shutoff valve...... they just don't seem really secure, makes me a little nervous.

See the two pictures attached... the one with both of the collars up is correct, there should be threads clearly visible below it... the second one is with the intake collar lowered and the hose is just on the hose barb, but not secure at all. With the collar up it is very secure and can't be pulled loose.

Thanks robbob2112, I corrected mine, I feel better about it now. I'd hate to see 65+ gallons of water in the house..... thats a lot.

Here is a question, I tested my pond today which has goldfish and minnows and maybe even a bluegill in it........ PH 7.4 ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, all zero. Is it a bad idea to use bacteria from an outdoor pond to seed an indoor aquarium?

I am pretty sure you can grow plants with LED's, it just depends on what spectrum they shine. I am not sure though, its just that I remember reading a post where someone was DIYing a hood with LEDs for a planted tank.

White LED will give off the appropriate wavelength of light for most plants.

So, my wife calls me the other day and says that the large snail (TheCaptain) is lying on it's side with the shell open. She thought it was dead so she reached in to touch it and it closed up quick..... So later on that day we notice....

And, One more thing.....i am seeing something on the inside of the glass
(Also at the same focal length so you can get the scale of it) it moves with the water current inside and it seems to be all over... What is it?
