New 90 gallon defective

I know that I work for Petco and their return policy is 30 days after that then you have to contact the manufacturer and deal with them. Petco doesn't make the product so the manufacturers will have to correct the defect. Remember the "Lifetime Warranty" is not from Petco or any other store but who made the product. It is possible that the manufacturer will contact the store to see if you can drop off the tank there. Before that can happen the manufacturer has to contact Petco and they have to contact you. I wouldn't try and fix it yourself because that would void out the warranty.

All-Glass is now Aqueon, same company different name. They also own Oceanic as well.
not sure about the petco portion but in essence all true.
the warranties are from the mfg. petco's responsibility rests with the mfg's obligation to the customer(Petco is a customer of aqueon in this case)

I chose to repair my tank as the alternatives provided by the mfg were just not suitable and would be extra cost out of pocket from me.
in my case the LFS was a pain in the backside even threatening me with a restock fee .( I had a contract with them to purchase the tank and there was no restock fee in the contract)
got the tank home and discovered it leaked. aqueon wanted me to deal with the lfs or take the tank to a facility 30 miles away to leave it to be repaired.
it was a freakin leak.. so I stripped the tank and resealed it myself.
btw the tank glass is not thin by any means.. the tank is fine just had a bad silicone job.
you'd have thunk they could have sent me some silicone ;)

I can understand your point Star_Rider. That is just stupid to charge a restocking fee. I agree that they could have sent the silicone. I know that the tank has thick glass. That is way my husband bought a 125g made by, at the time All-Glass then Perfecto, because the glass was thicker.

We just had a customer that bought a 75 R. A couple weeks later he decided to set it up. Cleaned the tank and said he found a very tiny chip in the tank. You can barely even feel it let alone see it. To be honest the chip was still in the tank after he said he washed it completely out. Personally I think he did it because I know it wasn't there when he bought it. When he bought it he kept saying are sure that it doesn't have any cracks. Because he wanted a bigger discount then he already was getting from the GM. Any ways long story short. We got him a new tank because it was within the 30 day period.

I have had a similar situation with a 55 Gal "big ol' mess" is what my husband calls it. Now all my tanks are on tile (ceramic tile w/concrete under it) yeah we had to replace the carpet..... did I mention the big ole mess..

I"d keep at them and get them to honor the warrenty. If a tank breaks through no fault of your own I think thats the least they can do!!!
