Hey guys

Picked up a crab at lfs, they said it was a bubble crab, he is bluish body and light red legs. He burrows in sand and his true name is Scopimera , i have searched everywhere for info on this crab. anyone have any ideas what it is and its care.

havent had any luck finding info, just a short 3 line article, talking of them on the beach.

i have not been able to find any pics of him or anything.

any help or info would be appreciated

hey

no, your wrong !

the lfs guy told me what it was, bubble crab, what it ate, everything , and it digs in sand. i was just looking for more info on this crab.

ask before you assume , i never said i had no idea about the crab, just asked for further info.

keep posts like yours to yourself , you sound like a real snob.

Ok, done a little research for you on these..They commonly each surface detrius and plankton..They breath through openings in their legs..They are a burrower and build an air pocket inside their burrow so they dont have to leave it to breathe..There is no documented evidence that these are Reef or invert safe am afraid..

Not much, but i hope it helps a little...

Odin, really I didn't mean for it to sound that way and note that my signature is not intended directly at you (its been there). Its funny what the LFS will tell you just to sell people something which is why I research even though the LFS says its all good. Kind of like them saying gonioporo are great beginner corals... I made that mistake several times until I finally realized I trust my own research - like when I bought a torpedo ray which they claim wouldnt get big or hurt anything in the tank. :duh:

Sorry you took that the wrong way.
