New Fish In The Tank

Gourami Power

Gourami Keeper
Hello, my name is James and I am 16. I been keeping fish on and off for 5 years. I guess this will be a good opurtunity to tell you what kind of fish I own. Well I own a 10g tank with 3 Albino Corydoras Catfish and a Blue Paradise Gourami. I am not good with the "stocking" thing since I tend to overstock. Well I hope I can get enough info here to help me with my fish, and I hope I can help you.

That tank doesnt seem to be overstocked with my knowledge, so your fine. ;) :D

Well not yet lol. Usually if I see a good looking fish I want to buy it. Do yuo think I can add 3 or 4 Neon Tetras? Or will that be pushing it. My store got some new ones and they are beauts.

yes you could add them, its just an issue of if the gourami is going to be too agresive towards them.

You might want to give the gourami a little longer to get used to your tank before introducing new fish. Also, to let the tank acclimate to the increased bioload. Im guessing you arent quarentining the new fish? Just be careful, watch them closely and do water changes more frequently than usual. Like every other day.

Hm, Im just checking around and (I may be wrong on this) but I think the paradise gouramis get to around 4 inches as adults. If so, he will be too large for your 10 gallon. Someone else want to confirm/deny this??

And what about his turning radius? Not trying to be snarky, Im really wondering about this, with a fish potentially that size.

I thought the offical rule was 1 inch of fish per gallon. Which rule is more accurate?
