New fish! (rainbows & betta)

Wow. What a beautiful beta!

hope he comes out okay..
Last time that happened here at petco the guy said "do you still want him" :lipssealedsmilie:

It just shocked me that he didn't even make an attempt to save him. I felt like saying "Buddy, do you know how long I have been looking for these fish??" :angryfire:

your lucky,my PC never stocks. Well hope your fish survives.Nice additions and pics!

So far so good, I think he is going to make it!

Outstanding find!

I can't tell you how shocked I was to see Threadfins there! Its no wonder I drive 40 minutes to go to that one when I have a Petco less than 10 minutes away.

I love my Threadfins, nice buy! The more you have together, the more fun they are. I have 4 males and 8 females in a 75 and they can put on quite a show.

What other fish do you have with them? I am probably going to have a species only tank, but I am curious. The males are already displaying to the females...its quite fun to watch! :grinyes:

wow!! great fish day!!
Nice fish!

Thanks...it made going back to work today much easier!

cool betta!
Wow. What a beautiful betta!

Thanks! I just couldn't leave him there! I wish the camera picked up on the green shimmer he has on his fins...the 2nd picture doesn't do him justice. If breeding bettas didn't seem so difficult, I would be tempted to get some babies out of him. :perv:

Very cool fish
I always thought these where very cool fish and finally seen some in person a week ago and the fish store down the road.
These fish are listed as aggressive though from what I have read about them, So I'm not sure I will be able to keep them with my peaceful fish?

Threadfin rainbows? I always heard the opposite...a quick search gave me their profile from Practical Fishkeeping:

Notes: These fish are one of the most peaceful community fish around and although small look fantastic in large, graceful shoals. Threadfin Rainbows are succeptible to fin-nippers and so should be kept with other peaceful community species.

They are hanging out with my molly in QT, so I'm sure they are fine with other fish. :)

That's good to know, Now I can get me some when my 75 gets set up. Thanks for the correction, I guess it was only one site that had them labeled aggressive.
