i was recommended this food today by the ppl at petco. it seems legit, but it also seems like it has too much protein. it's nutrition facts: crude protein: 45%, crude fat: 12%, Crude Fiber: 3.5%, Moisture: 10% . . . . It just seems like it has too much protein to me, but i guess i could be mistaken? any comments on whether or not this is good for my cichlids? i'm also feeding them zucchini and lettuce alongside this.

What are the first couple ingredients? That will tell you if its good for Mbuna. Sometimes, even though the protein is high, it could be from plant protein.

fish meal, wheat flour, shrimp meal, soybean meal, grain starch, squid meal. . .

Its fine as long as its not the only thing you feed them. I mix it up with Cichlid Gold, Cichlid Excel, HBH Cichlid Flakes, Formula Two, and Dried Seaweed.

i feed my africans= bloodworms, frozen brine shrimp, spriulina(best stuff),shrimp pellets, and i have a cichlid staple pellet from a local breeder.

well i feed them zucchini and lettuce too.

yes, i've noticed that they do indeed love lettuce a lot.

I wouldn't consider feeding the fish foods containing proteins more than 50% frequently. Twice a week or once in awhile usage is fine.:)
