Well after 7 months I finally got my firemouths to breed. I finally noticed that I had a pair and was hopeing that tey might breed some day. They must have paired up and bread on the same day cause it was about 4 days ago I noticed them flaring and protecting one side of the tank and today baby firemouths everywhere. They must have spawned in the substrate (Thank god I decided not to vaccum the gravel yesterday) because I saw no eggs or wigglers on the rocks or glass.
My only problem now is trying to get the other 4 adults out of the tank so they dont eat the fry. When I try to get them they go nuts and disrupt the nest big time and the parents flip out. I guess I will just wait till the fry are a little bigger even if I loose some to the other fish.
