Nice pics Mema...thanks for sharing

I have blue rams too, what a beautiful fish they are. I have a breeding pair and a few other females...and a 15 gallon full of 3 1/2 week old fry. I kept hearing how difficult these fish are to keep, never mind breed...and I havn't been finding that to be true....and the ph in my tank is 8.0 !! So far 2 succesfuls spawns...the first one happened unbeknownst to me...lol...I noticed a group of 2 week old fry in the tank..(I have NO idea where they have been keeping them..I'm gazing into my tank ALL the time !)...but when I came home from work that day they were all gone...eaten by mom and dad or the dwarf gouramis that are in that tank.

That pair spawned again the very next day and I removed those eggs to a 15 quarenteen I have setup under the 29 they were in. So far the babies are all doing just fine.

Welcome aboard, Curtis. Lovely rams in the photos. Alvarado... Isn't Quikrete there? Do you get cheap sand?

re reply to EMG

Hi EMG Sounds like you got started like me my first fish was a betta also and my first aquarium was so I could breed him and boy was I uprepared for around 400 fry and then the seperating all the males had fish in cups jars anything that would hold water finally ended up with about 250-300 to to give away or sell most went to Lfs and it expanded from there I also have heard that rams are sensitive haven't experienced that either I have experienced their predilection to eating eggs which caused me to use remove the eggs method on www.aquatic-hobbyist.com site and it worked well any way glad to hear someone else has had the same experience with rams Sincerely Curtis
