Ok, It's been asked a million times before, but I had to ask. I have a 55 gallon tank that I'm turing into a reef. I've got around 45lbs of LR. I currently have 3 40watt marine bulbs, which is keeping things going for now. I've got tremendous coraline algae growing. I've got some yellow polyps and some green polyps. I want to have corals and some anemones. I've got two clowns that need a friendly anemone to hang out in. I'm shopping for the best lights for the best price. My interest is PC right now. The cash flow is limited, but I also want to get the best lights I can get. My tank is 48' long, 24' deep. I saw on hellolights.com that coralife makes 48' 4x65w PC's. That's only 260 watts though. Is that enough??? I was thinking I would need a minimum of 275 watts making 5 watts/gallon in my 55.
Any suggestions or web links would be great.

In a sense, you're splitting hairs worrying about 15W difference. 260 watts of PC will be fine for a lot of corals, but not enough for the most demanding. 24" is also a bit deep for PCs.

It's kind of hard to generalize, though, since different corals have different needs. Any types you had your heart set on?

Some leathers, a brain possibly, xenia, ect. I'm really trying to shoot for mid range lighting. I won't keep clams. I'll try not to put the cart in front of the horse. I'll figure out what I want first, and go from there. Thanks.
