The other night I went into Petland for some zebra rock and came out with a fish
erv: I finally found a healthy checkerboard cichlid! And it only took three years... unfortunately, there was only one. I momentarily panicked because my two q-tine tanks are full of my pond fish... then I realized I have a near-empty 29. Out went the female betta, in went the cichlid. He settled right in and looks fantastic! Eventually he'll go in my 40 Hex, when he's big enough not to be angel food. I forgot how funny they move. It's so jerky and careful; he's got to inspect everything.
Then tonight I bought another angel. He's kind of an odd angel; I've never seen these markings. He's basically black and white... or white with black stripes. Almost like a koi with no orange. He's a bit small but he really grabbed me out of the whole tank (what can I say? My angels "pick" me, not the other way around).
Poor but happy.
