I went from a 29 biocube to a 36 bowfront- so I have found myself with a lot more floorspace, and certainly a lot more horizontal space! I'm frustrated, I was finally happy with the 29, and I don't know what to do here.

This was the 29:

Here's the 36 today:

Now, I kinda of gave up after getting everything in the general area, since I knew I'd be adding more anyway. I'm thinking of adding this peice of driftwood mgamer is selling. I also do want more mayaca in the middle, I may buy more because although it does grow fast, I'd just like it done. Also, I want more ludwigia on the right.

Otherwise... I'm lost. The nice banana polant gets lost becaue you can't see it against the sword. Maybe get another red crypt, and move them both toward the front? And move the smaller piece of driftwood to the right front? I'm not sure what to get to fill in. I think I'd like something darker green maybe? Any idea are very, very welcome.

And for reference, 2.3 WPG, dose Flourish and Iron, and use Excel, but I have DIY co2 I can go back to, although it never worked well.

Oh- and a background? The biocube was black, but now that I have the option, I'm not sure if I should do something different.

...anybody??

don't be in such a rush.
let the plants growout . they will fill in the space in time. and you will save money.
unless you plan on re-scaping.

I think the crypts in the foreground is a great idea. I love my crypt. The ludwigia is a good idea too. I think once you add that color, you'll be happier and more ideas will come to you. :)

i kinda like the first look better.

Heh, so did I, that's the problem! That's my tank that started leaking.

Yeah the crypts are winning me over, too.

I think I'll hold off on the mayaca and ludwigia and try to just let it grow in. But I think I might get some more red crypts to fill in. And I really do like the driftwood.

What about a background? Stick with black?

I just recently painted two of my 20 Longs black. I love the black look on any tank. I have others that are painted blue and it just doesn't "pop" like the black does. It really sets a tank off. :)

I really liked the first setup :(
