Ok I am a college student. I now have a 10 gallon tank that is a freshwater tank. I am wanting to turn it into a saltwater tank for this summer and then move it back to my dorm room. I am looking at putting some live rock and some fsh in it. I bought the tank as a kit from petsmart. It came with the freshwater filter and hood and stuff. What am I going to need to turn this tank into a saltwater tank. I am only looking to put live rock in it and some fake coral and fish. What can I put in the tank and how much is it going to be. Thanks for the help and no I cant get abigger tank. Also would it be better if I do a nano tank with it? thanks.

Well, it will be a nano by definition--that refers to the size, rather than the stock.

Research what fish you'd want, and make sure they'll survive. It's going to be hard to have a stable setup if it keeps being moved, but that will matter more for maintenance and care.

You can use the power filter for water movement, run it without media. Add live rock, cycle, and a hood with moderate light. Cycling and stabilizing the tank for a a few months before adding fish will be best--and be prepared to do a number of water changes following the move.
