We went to a LFS to check out their big annual sale, and ended up getting a JBJ 180 nano tank. It's 8 gallons and is shaped like a semi circle, and it's an all in one kit. Cool little tank, plus it uses an 11W PC bulb with a reflector... perfect for another low tech planted tank! ;)

Of course, with a new tank, we just had to hit another shop to see if they still had peacock gudgeons... they did, so we picked up 2! We also scored 5 pygmy hatchets, and they are awesome! I had never even seen any before today.

We started the tank with pool filter sand taken from our 120 gallon (you can't even tell it's gone, lol) and a seeded Biowheel that we are floating in the tank. We also added a few cherry shrimp... we have TONS. I planted it with a couple crypts, some contortion vals, and some pennywort. We will be adding more plants soon.

The fish seem to be doing well so far. I'm hoping that the peacocks will spawn. Anyway, here are some pics. The filtration system uses an adjustable spray bar over the filter floss- pretty cool idea, I think. :)

Awesome, something like that would make a kick-butt nano reef tank, too.

Thanks guys! :)

There really isn't enough light for a nano reef, and not nearly enough flow. I had an 8 gallon Biocube nano reef going for a while and then sold it before the move. Same size, but the Biocube has about 3 times as much light over it, and it's still considered low light for a reef... the JBJ 180 nano is designed for FW basically. Cool idea though. :)
