New Tank Stocking

My 55 gal tank is going to be finished with its fishless cycle and I wanted some oppinions on my stocking plan.

Its a 55 gal, planted/heavily planted and the intended stocking is:

2 Sparkling Gourami (1M/1F)
2 Dwarf Turquoise Gourami (1M/1F)
2 Powder Blue Gourami (1M/1F)
5 Platties
3 Schwartz Cory Cats
4 Marbled Hatchet Fish
6 Lemon Tetra

Considering replacing the 6 Lemon Tetra with a German Ram Cichlid pair.

I am curious as how the 3 different gourami pairs will fair together. Any thoughts, comments, ideas, or things I should be aware of regarding this stocking is greatly appreciated.

do u have A good hood with a limited amount of holes and cover, hatchet fish are known to be exxelent jumpers

Also, I have seen on some sites that sparkling gouramies are supposed to get up to 1.5" but a lot of other sites seem to say that they only get up to 1.2"

Are there any gourami gurus out there who can fill me in with a bunch of gouram i info.

Hopefully you know you should add fish a few at a time and make sure you keep an eye on water quality.

Male dwarf gouramis fight. My male powder blue beat up other powder blues and a larger male pearl gourami. You probably have all males because lfs rarely sell females. Females lack the bright coloration of the males and males tend to have a more pronounced bump to their foreheads. Pearl gouramis are peaceful... I believe moonlight and chocolate gouramis are too. The three spot varieties (gold, blue, opeline) are semi aggresive fish. In dwarf varieties, the males are usually aggresive with eachother. they are not always, just watch them. They like lots of floating plants so that they can build nests and stake out territories.

PJFish, I suggest you understand what a fishless cycle is before you make said comment. Thanks Kiss for the info. I was wondering whether different species of gourami would be aggressive towards each other. I have means to receive both male and female gourami and I wonder whether being able to pair up settles the males down. I have found such comments elsewhere on this site.

Excellent advice! I've never owned all of those varieties, but often wondered how they would interact. Thanks.
