Hello there,

I am getting a 30 gallon long tank, and wanted to check on the compatibility of my desired fish.

3 small silver dollars
2 guppies
2-3 zebra dannios

Thanks,

Aquaman

Be careful with the Danios with the Guppies. Mine tend to really like to chase and get a little bit nippy. I had planned on Guppies in my tank too, but I've decided to wait until the Danios either calm down, or die off. If you do end up getting them, please let me know how it goes. My son is begging me to put guppies in there!

I think the Silver Dollars would get much too large for that size of tank.
And I agree with the others in that the Zebra Danios would probably harass the Guppies. I've had both a long time ago and they were not very happy together. How about picking one type of fish that you really like and building your tank around that? (You can always get another tank later on for more fish ;) )

Welcome to AC btw ;)

I agree w/ the others. The silver dollars will get a bit too big for your tank.

If you are worried about the Danios how about considering Clouds, or Cardinals for a nice schooling fish or rasboras, etc.?

The guppies too are a very excitable fish, and have been know occasionally to be a minor nuisance to other long-finned fish fyi. However, I have mine in w/ dwarf gouramis and 2 high-fin Skrit Tetras and they are working out perfectly! I don;t know about danio behavior 1st hand...

Good luck and keep us posted! :D
