new tank

just wondering if this tank will work ok?
i have
1 Red tail black shark (4inc)
2 Clown Loaches (3 inc)
1 SAE (3 Inc
4 Black Widow Tetras (2.5 inc) - my girls fav fish
1 Female Convict (2 Inc)
1 Green Terror (4 Inch)
and 1 Red Devil (5 Inc) this was sold to me saying it would reach 6 inc max, which i have found out is bull s###, ill never buy a fish with out researching it first again!
they are in a 55 Gal Tank with lots of decorations and plants. no aggresion at the moment (except the RTB thinks he is the don shazlik one). i would like to keep the RD as he is such an interactive fish but am probably going to have to let him go. is there another fish similar in interaction i could swap him for as my LFS has said they woul;d swap him any imput would be good!
just got into the hobby about 6 months ago.

Well, the RD and GT both will probably outgrow the tank, and make a meal out of your girlfriends fav tetras. I would trade both in for some firemouths (might still eat the tetras, but not as likely and really do only get 6in long).

adult red devils are beautiful and a single adult shouldnt be kept in anything under 75 gallons, they can and usually do reach 15" in a short time
the convict is fine, firemouths are fine, but firemouths are usually mellow and if ya got a male convict it may be bullied
the way you have your tank now it will work for only a short time, id say 6-8 months before you start seeing mass murders and end up only with the red devil

Thanks for the help guys, i took your advise and traded the GT and RD for a couple of firemouths, and some food, so i think they gave me a good deal..
the firemouths are going fine with the convict, they actually all tag along together..
