Well.....over the past month I have completely emptied my 29 to attempt to get rid of the hair algae outbreak resulting from increasing the lighting from 40watts to 65watts......
If you can, buy a phosphate test kit (about $10) and check your tank(s). After the hurricanes from last year, less tank maintenance caused an increase in phosphates -- then big hair algae (that's right 'big hair') problems. I think Phos-Ban is ok for live plants, if you have them, double check any product you might use to make sure it's safe for live plants first... We have also been using Algae Fix. One day we might get the proper 'normal' balance we once had....
Thanks Joe...I may check that stuff out if it crops up again...so far though it looks fantastic ! It's been only a week since the tear down....and what little was left on some leaves seems to have faded away...which is a good thing !
I think the addition of lots more plants would help too....but I'm nervous about adding anything to the tank....figureing my luck....something like Ich would come in on it and I'll have to go through that all over again...lol...
My uncle called me in early August and told me that if I wanted his 135g, (tank, stand, lights, filters, etc...) and I came to his house and picked it up, it was mine... Well, I'm no dummy, so I tossed the hubby and kids into the truck and we headed over to his place. My hubby was quick to inform me that we could GET the tank, but we were NOT going to be setting it up for SOME TIME! I agreed... since I only got my 125g in November. We got it home and set it up in my garage and filled it with water to test it before we decided what to do with it.... Then one night, I mentioned to my hubby that the tank would look great with a nice cichlid setup in it! (He wanted me to put cichlids in my 125g, but I had my own plans) Next thing you know, we're setting it up in the family room and HE even bought the 150 lbs of Eco-Complete for it!
Us ladies know how to get what we want outta our men, huh?
lol Holly...no...there was a troll on here recently claiming all kinds of silly things and identities...one was that she was prego with triplets....lol.... I just wanted to be sure......since I was so gullible the last time around... :
so did we actually establish that it was a troll? cause i really stopped showing up becuase she was ruining alot for everyone, or is it just that your opinion was the same as mine? have i missed something recently that i should have read, kinda been avoiding things because troll was always there, and did everything...
Awhile back I was 80gJoe, there will be no larger, future upgrades. To be honest, it's not really my choice....

The other "person" from Norway that was supposedly her husband was her too..and she got into an argument with herself one night..which I missed, and that did it. They knew her ISP wasn't from out of the US. They shut down those 2, and she tried signing up at least 2 more times and got shut down again. You can't let people like that keep you away. You gotta stick around and be sure they have enough rope to hang themselves.

So to get the new tank I want, all I have to do is convince my husband he wants it? yea i started out with 1 now i got 3 going
.i must say i love my tanks even though i want a 20 long a 30 & a 55 then i will be really happy.someday but hopefully santa will be good to me this xmas & get me 1 or 2 of the tanks i really really want.
