New to the forum

Pulled the Mondo plants & tossed them. Could see signs of them already going south & they were just going to rot & clog the filter anyways. I'm going to pick up another Anubias, Lutea, and perhaps a couple Java ferns. If I can find a nice small piece of driftwood I'll likely get some Java Moss as well. Tested the water again. Results were essentially the same as several days ago.

Nice choices! You can also use java moss as a ground cover. It takes a while but it looks really good.

Went today to a local LFS & was disappointed in the plant selection so I passed for now. I'll check back in a week or so. Did my first water change tonight..... about 2 gallons. I used RO water, room temp & treated it with the usual declorinator. Put in a cap & a half of stress coat when I was done. Water changes are a breeze on a 6 gallon tank! I was prompted to do the water change when I noticed no ammonia (had traces before) but a spike in nitrites. (about 5ppm)
