Since my gold dojo loach died , my Malaysian trumpet snails have went nuts.

Today I bought two yo yo loaches because I just happened to be near the fish store I prefer. My angelicus botia loach doesn't seem to eat them at all.

Will they eat my MTS? I hope so. They don't need to wipe out the population, but I need a little maintenance.

My Botia Kubotai (Angelius botia) do eat snails and keep my tank snail free. You should really get a few more as they are very unhappy alone! More Yo Yos too. 3 min., 5 better.

I plan to now. So the angelicus and the yoyo won't socialize? They look so much alike.

I hear clicks! That has to be a good sign. I'm really sorry I didn't get more today. :wall:

Don't expect every botiine loach to eat a MTS. MTS can deter predation with their shell structure better than anything else.

This is good. The angelicus is socializing with they yoyos. It's so sweet.

I have noticed a fair number of MTS shells in the sand since I got my yoyos, so I'm fairly certain they're at least able to get at a few of them. I heard a good bit of clicking the first couple nights, and haven't heard as much since. I haven't seen a single MTS since then either. I hope they don't decimate their numbers, they're handy for taking care of little bits of algae on plants and for stirring up the sand.

True. I think mine may be eating the really tiny ones. They are digging in the wood and gravel, but I haven't seen them actually go after a full grown one yet.

I'm in the process of doing my tank maintenance for the week, and I did find some live MTS in the sand. I've got a few adults and some babies in the 6g as well, so if I need to stimulate the population, or just give the loaches some snacks, I've got 'em on hand. :)
