hey welcome to the marine hobby! its hard to say how much ull need bout usually around $300-500 is a nano...but ive spent well over $4000 on my reef.
what are ur plans?
fish are up to u really.
as for clean up crew i would say some hermits maybe like 3-4 and 5-6 snails...every aquarium is different really. best thing u can do is some reading and get a general idea of what to do.

Don't buy baged LS as it is a waste of money, LR type is your choice, I would do inverts and a clown/chromis, and maybe a randifords goby, start your crew with 3 snails of different types, 3 hermits and go from there,

Also if you haven't bought the tank yet don't get eclipse, they don't do very well with SW!!

HA I have over $1000 in my 10 gallon but I go overboard on everything.

alrighty, any suggestions on the LS other then the baged from LFS?? I have a salt water store near my home, Its called aquatic treasures.....I will check with them on the LS and dont really have plans yet, hopin to get some Ideas from some people.....I found a cool filter on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.com/Tom-Rapids-Mini...ryZ46310QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
is that a good price/filter? or would this be ok? http://cgi.ebay.com/Red-Sea-Deco-Ar...ryZ46310QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
??? thanks

Ok you don't need either of those filters, your liverock will take care of that. as for the clean up crew buy them as you need from the LFS. Start with a few snails and a few hermits and add as you need. You will have the right crew and less losses from lack of food for a certin cleaner.

get a few different species of snails, and about 4 micro hermits of your liking.

Ok well plans changed,.....I will just stick with a standard 20 gallon H tank, what do you guys/gals think I should buy.....I found a 20 gallon H tank with basic lighting and filtration, currently used for fw, and black stand for $30j on craigslist,......should I go with this buy?? will it end up costing more than I am willing to spend?? 300-400 max?? I know that I need better lighting, but other then that what would I need???
thanks

WELL that depends are you going Fo, FOWLR or reef?? If reef you will be close to your limit with basic (low end but basic) equipment, and your LR.

FOWLR that is do-able, FO definatly do-able. If you arn't going reef the lighting with the tank will be fine.
