In my planted 10 gal i have 2 swords (taller, all green kind, amazon i think?). dwarf papyrus (cyperus haspens), and two plants that are green with white stripes on the leaves, grows up and leaves fan out. looks like a white ribbon, but i cant remember the name. That plant seems to root slowly. couple questions:

right now i have 15 watt aqua-glo floro. Its 18,000 K. I was thinking about geting a bulb from home depot thats around 10,000 k. Do they make 20 watt 18 inch floro bulbs?

my two swords are getting brown around the endges. Is this because i dont have enough light yet , or they havent fully rooted? I assume they might get taller that my aquarium, if they do do i cut the tall leaves off?

Im using flora-pride, flourish excel, and flourish as per directions. any reccomendations?

lastly, any suggestions on easy growing plants without too high light recommendations?

sorry, i forgot to say. Its had these plants in it, with the onyx sand substrate, for close to a week now. The tank is fully cycled with 1 snail and 4 pygmy corys. (i used bio-spira after i did the gravel change). Thats also when i started adding the flourish excel and stuff. Could it be that the nutrients havent had time to kick in yet?

Yeah, thats the only light i have, so its 1.5 watts/gallon. I was thinking of checking home depot to see if they make 20 watt bulbs in that size. Ill look for 6,500k. I also think i saw a bulb that was around 6500k at lowes a while ago (its their aquarium/plant one), but its only 15 watts.

Most swords need a lot more light then what you have.

For low lights try-- Crypts, Java sword, Anubius, or Hygro.
